Robyn Todd

my heart was in your hands.

and it probably won't beat again.

I gave you absolutely every part of me,
to the point there is none left for myself.
I gave you everything I had,
everything I was,
everything I needed myself.
I would have reached through every single rib,
torn through every single muscle,
and ripped out my own heart,
if you had asked me to.
Hell, I did.
Everything I was, I gave to you.
Everything I am, I got from you.
How do I begin to listen to my own heart, when you never gave it back?
