The Blitz

All is calm, all is easy, all is sound.
The pathway of the Saga is clear and precise.
The deck hands under Jake’s command
are singing and pulling up the sated pods.
The crabs are clean and enormous in size.
The boat is riding on the rhythm of the waves
in perfect cadence to the swells and crests,
swaying from the nautical engines
under the deep blue sea
that pumps the rhythms to steady the pulse,
the same as in ancient times and times of now,
carving out a pathway for the fishermen,
lulling them from side to side in a steady pulse
like putting a baby to sleep in mother’s arms.

Oh what a fine day to be on the Bering Sea
until the human clouds see them dancing below,
transferring their jealousy and anger to the ship,
calling on their dark side to take control,
blitzing them with a ferocious attack,
calling on a rogue wave to upset
the peace and harmony,
to dash the starboard side of the ship
and go against the poetic motion of the waves
like humans do when they act upon their jealousy.

“Roll over the side and maim those men on deck,
ye mighty rogue wave that I sent to the Saga.
Show them who the Conquistador of the Sea is.
I am the Dark Lord of the Tempest’s mind and soul.
Beat the hell out of them and make them cry.
Why should they be so happy when I’m so miserable?
My sea is my playground and they are the intruders.
Do not trespass upon my waters again.”
