Smiling Meadows

Smiling Meadows

Summer’s sun is riding on high
Daffodils looking up toward the sky
Lazy willows sleep in peace
Near brooks when after tempers cease

We lie and count the clouds that drift
At their white shapes and skyward lift
Their journeys to open spaces unknown
Who knows where they’re to be blown

Skies and meadows in their summer’s best
In a land that needs its well deserved rest
Lazy afternoons of nothing to care for
Nothing but dreams of heaven to explore

Among the trees as mockingbirds sing
A hymn to all what nature doest bring
Time to meditate and time to look around
Time to listen and hear every sound

An ode to smiling meadows
An ode to nature’s nature
