Orpheus Leading Eurydice from the Underworld, by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot
Robert L. Martin

Rhythm Of Ecstasy

The uncharted path to the Gods above
Syncopated rhythm of fraternal love

Brothers of unity bringing heaven home
Where zealous spirits play and roam

Drums of passion kiss the feet of music
And ride over stony fences called rhetoric

Books convey as rhythm climbs inside
And plots the course for a heavenly ride

It steals your mind and melts your heart
Keeps time and space many miles apart

It fills your bones with the wayward wind
It frees your spirit with an enchanting hymn

When rhythm is no longer a rudimental chore
It takes you across the waters to the shore

It beats you against the soft velvet rocks
And lands you safely in cozy docks
In homes of freedom, of emancipated sound
From communal spirits with music all around
An easy ride on the wings of freedom
The rhythm of ecstasy, the joy of heaven
