Reconciliation

Reconciliation

I detest the way you
Look at me
The way you walk
The way you talk

How can I talk with
Your eyes drilling holes
In my spine?  How can I
Say something when your
Ears are floating into
The beyond?  When
My name is an abomination
Written upon your forehead?
When our homes are
Centuries apart?

Yet we must reconcile
We must close in our ways
So they touch each other
Your vile fingers with
My sensitive palms, your
Foul breath mingling
With my sweet incense
Why must we be together
When we were born to be apart?
Why must we reconcile?
