My Private Euphoria

There is a certain chordal structure in all music that fills me with euphoria and not the vast majority. There are other musicians before me with that distinct feeling, because it is there for me to listen to. We are all a part of a very select group that pass on those feelings in our music that only we can be elated from it. Our music idols are musicians that hardly anyone knows. Most everyone can’t feel what we can feel.
When I can finally execute a new musical passage or chordal pattern that I heard from them, I can’t share my euphoria with most others, because they can’t feel what I am feeling. Some say that is wonderful to make me feel good, but it is not wonderful to them. I am alone in my accomplishments.
I can’t say it is a handicap, because harmonic advancement is another stage that culture needs to reach in order to be progressive. It is just we, the ones who have to suffer by being misunderstood and not being appreciated for what we did. Popular music took our innovations and used them for its advancement. I feel that our little fraternal group of hypersensitive musicians have been exploited. We invented those chordal structures that they use and make all their money with, and we have many more for them to steal and call their own.
