Reclining Nude, by Amedeo Modigliani
Robert L. Martin

My Love to Thee

My love to Thee

She’s so lovely and all so tender
Beauty in its gleaming splendor
A kiss of dew upon a rose
Venus moves to strike a pose

Her smile brings all of heaven down
Upon a throne she wears a crown
Lady of desire she’s Queen of Hearts
My soul’s on fire discretion departs

Oh young maiden for you I tremble
My strength is gone my speech I ramble
Who am I but a man among men
Who art thou but heaven in the glen

When you smile my body’s glowing
A stem getting stronger with its growing
Hail to thee my fairest maiden
My passion flows though heavily laden
