My Chosen Fate
As if our God left me alone to choose
As if I arrived to this life on my own
As if I were all powerful and sagacious
As if my judgment was the final word
As if I were the foam controlling the wave
As if I were a cloud ruling the skies
As if heaven was my eternal home
As if the planets were familiar spheres
As if I knew how many stars in all the skies
As if I knew how many galaxies there were
As if I could see infinity as sequential matter
As if I were a spirit that materialized into a smile
As if I were intimate with all humanity
As if love controlled my thoughts
As if my commandments were prudent
As if I sent my son to save mankind
Then I could be left alone to choose my fate
I would leave this life
With a contented smile
I will have a sound body and mind
I would open death’s doors
With strong arms
I will have forgiven my enemies
I will have made all my atonements
I would forgo my life
For another’s salvation
I would cut the rope above me
To save the climber above
Since the rope is not strong enough
To support the both of us
If only I was alone and worthy
Enough to choose my own fate
