Love Devils

Love Devils

They spin their webs in the name of love
For the lonely down below and up above
With a face like Venus and a heart of stone
They steal your heart then head for home

As love devils ride into love’s sanctuaries
 False prophets and their contemporaries
With beautiful bodies and persuasive speech
Move like serpents with a trust to breach

As love opens the door to love’s sacred house
Love devils move in as quiet as a mouse
Whispering love’s language into lonely ears
With sweltering lips to melt all the fears

They take you to the devil’s thrashing floor
Where fools come back and ask for more
For broken hearts and forsaken dreams
Another thrilling ride or so it seems
Beware of love devils as they come and go
Beware, beware, beware
