Down in the Dark

Down in the Dark

From heavenly smiles and angelic hymns
From thoughts that grow in sacred gardens
From white sands that glisten in the sun
Down cryptic hallways to that wicked place

Down in the dark where nothing ever grows
That private hell that lives away from the sun
Where tainted angels lose their virtuous wings
She dances to the tune of the devil’s lot

Down in the dark where she has landed
Upon black robes and rumpled curtains
Where her angelic side has lost its purity
There’s a sordid hell that waits for her

“Come my child, my dear sweet child
At my gates shall thee pass through
Into my bosom, my love paradise
From there we shall rule the land.”

Down in the dark
She found her new home
Down in the dark
She found her new self
