Dollars and Sense

Dollars and Sense

Monetary losses but ascending dreams
Reality’s hand, a grasp too confounded
Life swirls with the speed of lightning
Comes to me with its shifty eyes

Poor me, a simple fool to money’s language
Falling from towers of monetary strength
Too oblivious to know what’s coming
The veil of confusion covers my simple eyes

Money’s lingo, easy to those in vogue
For others, a mystery too dark to find
School of numeric thought, my academic wilderness
Fell silent when I walked right from the cradle

Money is the furthest apple on the tree
Too remote to find and taste
A zest for life and all its mysteries
My only love, my only passion
Far from life’s requirements
But close to love’s fulfillment
