Behind the Mask of Beauty

O beautiful woman mingling with the angels
who from her celestial lofted perch befalls
breaks free from her heavenly home
and swoops down upon the earth so all alone.

Her eyes are beacons that shine into the heart
and warm the spirit as all icy thoughts depart.
Her body was molded  by heavenly sculptors
with poetic hands to define all the curvatures.

She is an unassuming charmer with her beauty,
a woman sanctioned to perform her mystic duty,
an emissary from heaven with a face of compassion,
the mask she wears by the Gods so fashioned.

But behind the mask, a woman with earthly thoughts,
a mind of many schemes and destructive plots
with a power over all so dazzled by her looks,
a seductress who snags them with her graceful hooks.

O beautiful woman with her powers in her smile,
thinking about the fall of mankind all the while,
goes about her duties with her head held high,
in obedience to the laws of seduction complied.

“O beautiful woman, look to see what you have done,
to those who fell into your web that you spun.
Beware of thy ascension into heaven again
for thy deeds that you did up until the very end.
Beware, beware, beware.”
