A Symphonic Poem
A symphonic poem beckoned to me through the quiet air, and like a distant lover, opened the door to my heart with its enchanting melodies. The prelude spread its warmth over me with its ceremonial rites of music that seduced my spirit and dared me to hear beyond. I could smell the rich harmony of sweet violins as if the most heavenly perfume had brushed me by. The sound created a poem of peace within me. Every stanza was dedicated to the glory of music, the reclamation of empty souls. The zealous flame of beauty burned throughout. The grand finale came from the voices of the angels that bid me a tender farewell. I say also, “Farewell to thee, my sweet symphony. Like fine wine, I will keep the taste of thy flavor upon my lips and within my heart, long after the vessel is forgotten.”
