Now that you have gone, unexpected from my gaze
A sudden empty place is now before me laid,
Where no future can be seen, where all things are extreme,
When all thoughts of tomorrow are an unremembered dream.
Where the life that was now has no place,
The time that was, just a hole in space,
The vacant days of yesterday crumble in the haze,
Please take tomorrow far away, and hide it in a maze.
Thoughts now only bring a dread return of loss,
That empty open place that I, unaided cannot cross,
When to reach upon that other shore the view would still remain,
When today would be unaltered if tomorrow came.
