Red Ribbon

                        Red Ribbon

The morning sun was quiet not seen
Flowers smiling waiting to greet
Good morning... now late not said
Breezes none the leaves not stirred

The morning brings sad memories
  long ago
Of a lost song forgotten woven in
  sweet young love
Once the fountainhead of deep longings
Hopes and dreams of love lived together

Tryst meetings from white lies said
  at home
Found our souls entwined in grotesque
  passion
Hungry for each other’s naked body
  barriers none
Consumed the condiments of love
  enhanced flavor

In the streets of my mind I find you
The peculiar loving way you smile... laugh
The enticing ruffles of your skirt when
  you walk... sway
Ripples of your soft red ribboned hair
  as you walked to me...

Are as real as the rainbow appearing
  after a drizzle
As real as the sweet petrichor smell of
  earth
Helios and Zeus spread love joy to the
  hungry soil
As real as your craving for my
  yearning love
As you came to me our caresses hands
  lips finding
Their way to satisfy our insatiable
  youthful desires

As I glanced back in my memory
And saw the red ribbon on your hair
