Shadows tapering
Golden leaves now purplish brown
Bush tits tweeting sleep
Mane nearly gone white sideburns
Silhouettes a golden past
###
Clouds hover moon peep
Bats blinded head back to cave
Hoot! Hoot! Round eyes hoot!
###
Amidst laughter I walked the corridor
On my face arches of uncertainties.
I stopped.
Looked down.
Looked up.
Looked around.
For the first time I heard voices
Amidst laughter faces I adore
Comfort I found arches of certainties.
###
Love replaces death
Hatred never dominates.
Love, hate, common, not
Adore, ignore, both succumb
Love fires to flame, hate ashes.
###
I picked a stone, yes
It left a mark_ shallow yes
Too deep for a rock
I moved a rock it left a
Mark_deep too shallow for stone
###
I see and I weep
Upon the shadow you cast
You dreamed too deep
Find it shallow to last
I see and I weep
Upon the glory you reaped
You tried you created
Beyond what was rated
I see, at last I no more weep
You made a shadow of a leap!
###
Dream always I will
For is not in dream
Realities are created
One’s very being a dream?
I will scale every brick
That made Rock-e-feller
Reduce him to a Poor legend
Against a beautiful Song I will be!

8ySapin-sapin, That's quite a collection of quatrains from the 60s. Awesome that you kept copes of them.
Nelson D Reyes
8yThanks for liking, Brod. Got a few more.

8yColorful and sweet and delicious. Only very filling...but... Thank you Robert. Always nice to hear from you.

8ySounds like a treat. I love sticky rice or sweet rice. Filipinos are good cooks! I do love the line "one's very being a dream." When we die I imagine we all will look back as if it were all a dream. I hope mostly a good dream. I thought while reading this how our lives are filled with layers. Nice poem!
Nelson D Reyes
8yThank you Jenifer. Sorry for a delayed delay reply. Yes it's a layered life from birth. We pad when cold and peel when warm, keep the comfort zone but also step out when we need to, as often times we do. I thought you'd love that line about us but a dream, jelled from love, figuratively and literally. And yes it's all a dream looking back. You're right on!
Nelson D Reyes
8yGood cooks? Absolutely we are! One for Ripley's, I do cook! I do a mean adobo!
J Ann Crowder
8y@Nelson D Reyes: Yes, Adobo was always my favorite!
