Plato the Platypus

In Australia, where rivers ebb and flow,
Lives a curious creature, by the name of Plato.
With a bill like a duck, and a tail like a beaver,
He’d swim through the water, a true achiever.

Plato the Platypus, wise and profound,
In the quiet of the night, he’d make not a sound.
He pondered the stars and the moon’s gentle glow,
And the mysteries of life, that he longed to know.

He’d dive down deep, where the waters were cool,
Using “Electrolocation”, his favorite tool.
With a flick of his tail and a splash of delight,
He’d catch his dinner in the soft moonlight.

Plato was more than a creature of whim,
He had thoughts deep and wise, a true sage within.
He’d muse on the world, both near and far,
And dream of adventure, beyond the sandbar.

So, if you ever find yourself by a winding stream,
And you see a platypus looking lost in a dream,
Remember dear Plato, with his heart so grand,
A philosopher of water, in a magical land.

it really is quite fun researching these animals
sidenote, a platypus is, don't quote me on this, the only mammal to lay eggs. I had decided to keep this part out of the poem.
