In The NOW

To stay in the moment, breathe slow and deep,
Let go of your worries, no secrets to keep.
Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin,
Lay down in the grass, let peace come in.

The past is a whisper, the future a dream,
Here in the now, life’s as it seems.
Each heartbeat, a rhythm, a song of today,
In this moment, the mind learns to stay.

See the colors, smell the air,
From the blooming flowers to the child’s cry for care.
Life’s a canvas, painted with time,
Every second, a masterpiece, so divine.

Embrace the stillness, let thoughts drift away,
In only this moment, forever please stay.
For in this space, serenity will be found,
In your heart’s gentle beat, holds the world’s soft sounds.

Now close your eyes and feel the moment,
Release your mind, feel the tension abate.
Be in the present, don’t miss out, don’t foment,
Make this moment the one, there’s no debate.

You will discover true beauty, experience genuine joy, and achieve success in the present moment. I wrote this in Houston, TX in 1982 at a weekend retreat with Frank Natale. And at 26 years old started my trip of awareness, meditation and self-actualization.

Beautiful poem Mark, you are so right, Now is the only moment.

Wow, so beautiful. Really went there with you. I LOVE, "Life's a canvas, painted with time." I continue to be amazed at the power of poetry to amplify and unfold the beauty of Life! ... with whole new angles of perception!
