Elemental

As zephyr’s weave through leaves, unseen but felt,
Carrying fragrant tales across the meadow.
Air, the breath of existence, fills our lungs,
Like a delicate bloom, cherished and shared but for a brief moment.

Beneath our feet, the soil cradles roots,
Anchoring trees, growing our sustenance allowing us to sustain life,
Earth, patient and nurturing, holds lasting memories,
Leaving footprints in its ancient facade.

The wind, both gentle and fierce,
Dances through meadows, whispering secrets to the swaying grasses.
Wind, it carries the fragrance of the earths many flowers,
Orchestrating the flight of birds and the rustle of leaves.

Around the hickory log fire, flames dance,
Their tongues licking the night sky.
Fire, ancient, warm and wild,
Whispering secrets of transformation and primal desires.

Flowing rivers, majestic lakes with waves crashing onto the sand,
Sculptor of landscapes patiently anointing the earth.
Water, cradling life within its liquid embrace,
A mirror reflecting happiness, joy and sorrow.

The pragmatist in all of us,
Depends on the elements.
Earth, wind, fire, air and water,
To survive this masquerade of life.

I've been working on this one awhile now. One of these days I'll get it right! ha
