i see your face and I hear your words
but you’re not like us its a disguise,
a cloak that somehow i see through
where others fall tripping on your lies,
like weeds between flowers growing
all the goodness your syphon away,
you’re a parasite that lives off energy
and I can see you tread night and day,
i see your face and i watch your eyes
they don’t look or behave like mine,
your blood runs cold and pumps slow
as you cling to prey with iron like vice,
your hearts a swerve around loyalty
choosing nothing but lust and greed,
charging the world for a life not lived
giving nothing, taking all that we need,
i see your face and i know that you know
as i watch the weary phase of your trickery,
our vision meets and i can see recognition
and the face of a reptile can’t stay hidden,
then i realise that you are only dominant
because the weak don’t believe you exist,
as the world turns and seasons change
to expose your threat is within my remit
