the empty space of a silent ballroom
a closed bar with a piano, the lid down
defused night comes from shaded light
from fake candles that hover in the darkness
as a bleached dark angel takes your arm
if a violent life will bestow a peaceful death
an eternity shall be a vague playground
angrily it will pull you through the mud to calm
that echo of silence will always sting hard
as ears wish not to dwell or rue frailty
the human condition is a multi-layered animal
many blankets shelter its egos from the cold
and true love wails a victim of a potential car crash wreck
what makes it last or fall at the hurdles, by the wayside
hope of a better life gives no comfort to two bleary red eyes
trying to view whats beyond right and a perceived wrong
as the hourglass gets held aloft and turned on its head
the grains of sand begin to slowly meld and mirror your thoughts
because soon enough our glass of hours will fill
and with a swipe of the hand return back to nought
