the heavy hand of lunacy

Like moths to the flame, we breathe and exhale
We judge and conspire, as we hammer the nails
A faceless communion, we stay safely penned
Where innovations a poison we pay to take

In long single file we follow the pack
No knowing, just flowing, no ebb or look back
We all guard the box, don’t dare look outside
In case ridicule belittles and makes us contrite

So, here we are now without forward or stop
And more questions than answers hang ripe on this crop
And nowhere to turn when insights aloof
Just the heavy hand of lunacy disguised as the truth

No privacy, no secrecy, no txt msg unread
No email, no spoken word, no thought in your head
No part of your life that isn’t privy to big brother
And we call this freedom, tell me another
