the blind fighter

I take all your thrown
all your tossed, all your groans,
a blind man punching
through the sarcasm of self,

my heart is your fuse
and the touch lit by you,
and ounces of broken tears
wept unconscious on the floor,

no ring and no chime
just sweat tears and pain,
soulless abandon
and recalcitrant reign,

a crown fit for a jester
worn proudly by me,
as I see a strange darkness
come freight training to me,

and I’m lay prone, not numb just free
a heart lay stunned, its beat is not me,
a full pride of anger, slips far away
leaving a pasture of love where we can be,

a blind boxer punches into blackness
no hope or surrender, a duty that’s thankless,
and love is a collision that waits
interaction, a cherished atonement,

a blind boxer can’t tell
when he’s wasting his verve,
he’ll put himself through any hell
to still pretend he’s got the nerve,
