Solitude

Happy St Patty's Day

The hustle and bustle of big city streets
And the crowds, with their laughter and sorrowful moods,
Is something I long for, and yet I retreat
To seek solitude, to seek solitude.
A room full of friends and relations I love,
The wine is free flowing, the vegetables stewed:
It’s a thing I most value, and yet not above
My own solitude, my own solitude.
Share with me your tales, songs and amity,
I hold them all dearly, but this I conclude,
That even in places where love is for free,
I seek solitude, I seek solitude.
