Rocking Chair

For children with good taste

I’m sitting in a rocking chair,
I’m rocking forth and back;
Sometimes I’m here, then sometimes there;
I never can keep track.
Have you sat atop a rocking chair,
That mobile, shifting seat?
It’s just like floating through the air
Except you use your feet.
Endless fun is a rocking chair,
It is like a buried treasure;
Both cause eyes to blink and stare
At their aesthetic pleasures.
I do so love this rocking chair
Creaking upon the floor,
But what makes the fun of it so rare
Is there’s always room for more.
