Gray

You found me in a well, down there, it was so dark and damp in that place I fell.

You held me in your arms and we walked for many miles. I struggled at first and tried to hide. You said little girl calm yourself, I’m here now to hold back the tide.

You watched me as I cried and wiped away my tears. You told me “ little girl there is nothing more to fear”

You said don’t be afraid, the monsters can’t reach you, I will escort you through the dark forest and teach that love can be good, love can be great. I found you in that well– it’s both our fates.

As we walked the night drew in and you warmed me with your touch and as my fear grew again you lit the pathway with your love.

We walked and walked and I stumbled and fell, I was so scared you would throw me back into the well. You said little girl I would never do such– your mine now and nothing will break us

We reached the house in an open field and you washed me and fed me and made me feel free. You said little girl, little girl you belong with me and in this simple house in this field together we will always be.
