Fools

Do you remember when we were fools and the foolish things we’d do? Do you remember us laughing madly because we thought we were the only ones that knew?
Do you remember the button we found, the one that is now long forgotten? It winked, smiled and enticed us so we would press once for self destruction.
Do you remember the stupidity and my dogged obsessions with your idiosyncrasys, yet all I wanted was for you think of me, much like the phantom and his Christine.
I must have been a child then and you were just a boy. For I cannot think of another beast that freely throws his toy.
On reflection the detour was worth it, to hold you once a week, even knowing that after hours we were hardly permitted to speak.
Detours are only detours if you don’t enjoy the view and whilst it was only fleeting I enjoyed the view those nights with you
