Not like the stories I have read

Not like the stories I have read

Snow-white told me that someday my prince will come
but  my nights became longer
more doubtful of anyone to come
all the animals had turned on me
and the seven men surrounded me
with their dirty comments.
my mind became sour with poison
as my dear prince did not come

Not like the stories I have read

Cinderella told me that someday my prince will come
with a swish of a wand and a few songs a dress will appear
to make it to the ball
all he did was search for only the pretty and witty gowns
that surrounded him all around
my time had fled
and all I had left was worn out clothing
the glass slippers broke and cut my feet
not leaving any evidence for the prince to find me

Not like the stories I have read

Sleeping Beauty told me that someday my prince will come
for I have waited
that had seemed as if it were a hundred years later
as I was bored of waiting
I chose to test the spindle
to prick my finger to see how it feels
The pain was unspeakable as it related to my worn out broken heart
for he the prince to mend it he did not come

Not like the stories I have read
that’s the way it should be
if we are trying to live a fairytale love
we will not capture any if we try to relive
a fairytale tale story that once had already been done
for all the princes that did not come were already with the ones they love.
