Juan Benito

She is "Aging"

She touches my soul,
And she lets me know I am getting old,
She takes nothing for granted,
She measures moments and time by years,
By moments of joy and happiness,
By hardships and tears,
She is time measured in decades and centuries,
She is present now,
And has been present throughout my history,
Recording my life events as she does for each and everyone,
She will be present at my end,
And she will be renewed when new life begins,
She affects me physically and mentally,
And in all things specifically and generally,
She was there when I took my first breath,
And she will be present upon my death,
She goes by the common name known as “aging”,
Her touch as first is soft and as I get older,
She becomes most engaging,
She beckons me to see past my mortality,
To see the infinity,
And she calls to me most spiritually,
I listen and eagerly await,
With joy I anticipate,
That my life, be lived in peace and love; without hate,
Tomorrow brings forth a new day, with new light,
A future though I cannot see,
I feel is great and bright,
So, I say to her, “Walk with me!”
She is what I have been and all I hope to be.

Had the idea if I wrote about aging how would I describe her and theses are the lines that came to me.
