Candles
Flickering uncertainly
but still certainly flickering
our candle dripped
we had trays of wax
time and trauma saw to that
the candle may have been shorter
but
we could replenish it
Maybe we could have added
more candles
maybe we should have
but I still wanted ours
to be the tallest
and even if flickering uncertainly
certainly flickering
A deep breath later
you blew them all out
I put them away
first in the draw but
i’ll throw them out
sooner
or later
