J. Pratt

Influence

Copy somebody that you like

Don’t write what you don’t know

Because it’ll catch up to you

Your cracks begin to show

Don’t pretend to be great,

Where words fall from the sky

Just take a sip and wait

Be ready on standby

It sometimes takes a while

To generate ideas

Don’t rush your artistic style,

Coz it’ll be verbal diarrhea

Reading Poetry is good,

You’re just as worthy as them

It might be true, just misunderstood

But don’t self-condemn

You will find it subjective,

A rather relaxing space

Slowing down is effective

Just give them your poker-face

They won’t know what’s hit them,

Stuck there in the tree,

Hoy up a bit of phlegm

And flick a finger– you’ve got the key

Pick up the pieces

And Let yourself in now

Or you’ll end up in faeces

Coz it’s not a respectful crowd
