I also like to read ( historical, biographical, Christian), listen to classical music but also like other types of music, watching films on DVD.
I am 60 and have been happily married for 24 years to Christine and love to regular attend church, watch films and enjoy the countryside together.
I am a Christian and have been for over 30 years, so here's my story.
First of all I was adopted at six months of age and have had a severe stammer all of my life although not particularly bad before starting school.
I met my first wife Jean when I was in mid 20s, Jean was a Christian who attended the Salvation Army where I first heard the gospel and believed it but only in my head.
After a series of decisions made for Jesus which proved to be flawed and false but I started to read the Bible but I was still not willing to accept the gospel offer of salvation.
Jean and I got married in 1981 and after less than a year of marriage Jean died suddenly, on that evening of Jean's passing I prayed for God to forgive me of my sins and received Christ becoming a new creature in Christ.
Some nine years later having met Christine we got married in 1990 and have been very happily married for 24 years.
God has been faithful to us in many ways directing, leading and guiding us in all His ways.
We always think on Jeremiah Ch. 29 v. 11-14 which God has used so often in our lives together in giving us a future and a hope in Him for God knows the plans He has for us all.
God has been helpful to me so often to fight through my stammer and been able to accept my situation helping me and reminding me so often His love overcomes all things.
My favourate text is Hebrews Ch. 13 v.6. 'The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’
In august, 2012 I had been made redundant but have great peace in my heart the the Lord Jesus is with me and surrounding me in His love and wisdom for the future and great assurance of His will for me.
I love to write poems. It helps me to put down my feelings and I guess it's a way of venting. I have 2 sons, Jeff & Gary my grandson Josh & granddaughter Caitlin & my baby boy Rocky a ( Shih Tzu). I am so very pleased to say my son Gary and Jen are now husband and wife. They were married on 8/16/15. Such a beautiful Wedding and a most Wonderful Couple who Love each other very much. The best part is from this union I have 2 more grandsons Dillon and Colton, 3 beautiful granddaughters Samy (Samantha), Bella Mia and Addy (Addison) and 2 great grandsons Domy and Austin. This marriage means so very much to me. My daughter in law Jenny has raised her granddaughter Bella since she was 5 days old. She adopted her and her name is Bella Mia (2 years old). She is beautiful like her name. Together my son Gary and Jen will be adopting Bella's half sister Addy (5 years old). Jenny has been fighting to adopt Addy for more than 2 years. Addy has been awarded into the custody of Jenny and Gary. She will be flying home with Jenny on 8/28/15 from Florida to her "FOREVER HOME". In 90 days they will be allowed to adopt Addy. So both Bella and Addy are also my granddaughters. I am so very Happy. I now have a very large and loving family. I have written poems about Addy, and I want to Thank those of you who helped me pray for her to become family. Such a wonderful miracle has been witnessed. She is family now and she is beautiful. I love my daughter in law as she is a wonderful person, a fantastic Mom and a wonderful wife to my son. My son Jeffrey is my Hero. He's an upstanding guy, Honest and true. I'm so proud of him. He's also my Best Friend. God Bless. Sandi.
I am a believing and practicing Christian. I study God's word daily. I write Christian poetry but I also write on other topics. My poems are very simple. I don't use fancy or big words so this may be disappointing to some. I love the old Classic Poets like Sara Teasdale, Robert Louis Stevenson, and a whole host of others. I love all kinds of music from hard rock to classical. I'd like to share a few quotes, sorry I do not have all the names of the authors; Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option” “A woman often thinks she regrets the lover, when she only regrets the love” By Francois de la Rochefoucauld “One of the hardest things in life is watching the person you love, love someone else.” “The one that seems to love the least, has the most control, in a relationship” “I love walking in the rain, 'cause then no-one knows I'm crying.” “Until this moment, I never understood how hard it was to lose something you never had.” “Being hurt by someone you truly care about leaves a hole in you heart that only love can fill.” “The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned.” "I dropped a tear in the ocean, and when you find it, that is when I will stop loving you. A few Quotes from Me, Debra A man should always, say what he means, and mean what he says, because, this is his signature. The more people you have in your life, the more problems, there will be to endure. Smart is a woman who guards her heart. Foolish is a woman, who lets a man, tare her heart apart. © Debra
There aren’t many poets that would write a whole book on humorous poetry. You’re reading about a light hearted author who likes to see the funny side of life. In book shops the shelves are full to bursting with serious poetry and although that sort of poetry has its place the funny stuff seems to have taken a back seat. I found that it is the funny poetry that got me interested in the deeper verse. So, read it, give it a try. You won’t like everything you read but I’m willing to bet that some of them will make you laugh. If the poems won’t make you smile maybe the illustrations will. Please don’t read my poetry if you’re returning from a funeral or if you have a headache. These are not the times to try and laugh. Give it a few minutes.
I was born in Alabama. Lived the first 9 years of my life in Florida, but then moved back to Alabama after my grandmother passed away to live in her house. I've been here ever since and I absolutely love it. I am married to a wonderful man who is my best friend. I'm surrounded by my family and friends and beautiful nature. I am a follower of Christ. I've always loved to write. When I was little, I would write my parents little notes and slide them underneath the door of whatever room they were in. I just loved to touch people through my words. Verbally and on paper. When I became a teenager, I started to write random poetry for fun, but also for school. I realized that it wasn't homework for me to write, it was a joy. My poetry streak really took off at the age of 15. Now, having recently turned 30, I have been through a lot in the past decade and have not written as much as i used to. Ups and downs, highs and lows, defeats and victories...you name it. I've felt a lot of different emotions and thought many thoughts. And I've composed quite a few poems and written many songs through it all. So, this is my place to share them with the world, to touch others through my words. I hope they mean something to you. Thank you.
Hey there! I love writing, it's the best way I express myself. I've been writing almost everything I feel or been through as far as I can remember. However, I use to write and let it out and throw it all away. I've decided to stop ☺️ And now I will share the pieces I write as I'm inspired. I did a search and I found this website. I hope it's the start of something great. I am looking forward to meeting and reading whatever you all decide to share. We all can reach someone out there. So let's write and let us share
a mature lady of 57 that is enjoying time to do what she really loves. I love to paint, to grow roses, and to write. I adore my two grand daughters, and my children. The time is short, and every day I get to be here is a blessing. The god of love and righteousness is my hope. Worked as an RN for many years, interested in healing physical and spiritual. Hope to finish a manuscript soon and get it published.
