Where is God? But within our frame
Faith is epigenetically transferred
Lack of faith is precisely the same
Through childhood indoctrination
And the leap made by our progenitors
A hand me down gene within our DNA
We are programed for belief of lore
Observance promises us immortality
Offering eternity in God’s paradise
A reward above all, or so it would seem
Expectation of endless heavenly bliss
Must be regarded by any definition
As the ultimate form of human avarice
A selfish prayer of individual interest
Unburdened from all struggles of life
Would plunge a mind into indolence
Paradise found becomes paradise lost
An omnitiant entity must crave oblivion
To gain perfection, humanity is the cost
A pristine prison, walls of endless horizon
The host of angels envies all human beings
The creature bound for blessed nothingness
Surely makes life more precious and sweet
For life’s brevity evokes notions of most value
From whence we came, we are sure to return
Extinction a gift far greater than eternity.

10aTo each its own... this is a deep subject to dwell upon...I beg to differ.

10aI was acting as Devil's advocate. Opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the author. I wrote this to evoke some controversy I'm so happy you commented. Do you have a logical counterpoint to back up your disagreement? Go ahead make the Devils day fellow poet

10aThat is the nature of faith. One cannot engage in logical debate. God is beyond logic and the comprehension of this seemingly linear existence. It's like trying to explain the color green to a person who was born blind. We do not have the tools to understand an omnipotent entity . All we do is feel his presence and marvel at the universe. That is enough for mere mortals. You are right not to engage in debate with the Devil. For he cheats at the poker table
He will burn you every time, you cannot bluff the master of deceit. We are God's children and our faith is pure and innocent, it is only arrogance that leads us to question. I simply made provocative statements to raise a discourse and discussion Thank you so much for your imput, it is most humbly appreciated

10aYou are quite welcome to do the same for me. I just posted a peice called reflective. It's a tad more accessible than my other verbose rants. Your opinions valued. I'm enjoying the chat

10aIt's true that we we can't see our own mistakes. Its because their is a differential caused by perceptive processing and creative regions in our neural recognition. Poetry is notorious for keeping us blind to obvious ambiguities and missdirections. I guilty of this more than most for I'm dyslexic. My neural processing sometimes go awry
