Concealed, disguised, deceptively explained,
These mists are slowly cleared by whispered gales
Across a playground, thrilling truths obtained
Or theorized through older siblings’ tales
Of differences beneath the corduroys
And tiny skirts, through magic words that call
Forth curious rage from teachers, as do boys
Caught drawing guesses over restroom walls—
Crude scrawls foreshadowing an act now seen
To be colossal next to arrowed hearts —
An act grotesquely, gorgeously obscene:
Outrageous meshing of the bodies’ parts.
But most of all they learned contempt for those
Who knew but hid this marvel under clothes.
