for fourteen long days
in triple digits
afternoon rainstorms
the only respite
the heat wave will be
quite suffocating
all thanks to the cursed
yes, global warming
some think it ain’t real
a hoax others claim
but to call it fake news
a crying shame
polar caps melting
glaciers retreating
inch by inch the sea
gradually rising
all over the world
there’s super typhoons
mighty hurricanes
torrential monsoons
due to the ocean
temperatures rising
power and frequency
surely alarming
but turn it around
we certainly must
ensure that our earth
won’t be ball of dust
that our grandchildren
see hills evergreen
meandering brooks
peaceful and serene!
