On an old rocking chair, he sat
Daydreaming, in a reverie
Grinning, a beaming Cheshire cat
Rememb’ring days fun and carefree
Flashbacks of youthful escapades
A technicolor picture show
In vivid hues, the past parades
The memories in colors glow
Alas! His friends have departed
But he’ll see them in Elysium
Home of the brave, the stout-hearted
There, the fun and games will resume!
He rocks his chair, reminiscing
Then he’ll take a nap till evening
