Faith Hope Doubt

I doubt, but I hope not to sin
I hesitate but cynical I’m not
I wish my faith will strengthen
And my unbelief be finally forgot!!!

Faith flickers and fades
Doubt whispers on winds of night
But hope holds its light
I long for belief to stay
Gray shadows to fade away

Though questions remain
I look beyond loss and pain
Hoping fear succumb
Let faith’s warmth, so calm and pure
Turn doubt’s chill, and find a cure

When doubt cast its shade
I lift my gaze to the stars
Faith begins to grow
And in its soft, rising glow
My heart follows where winds blow

A few years ago I wrote a short 4-line poem about faith and doubt. I have revisited the idea and completed this three-tanka poem about faith, hope and doubt

#2025 #Doubt #Faith #Hope
