After All Is Said and Done

AFTER all is said and done,
After all the work and fun,
After all the sighing’s over
And the laughter fades away,
Then the cares that now beset us
And the little wrongs that fret us
Will diminish in their value
As we sail across the bay.

There will be no friends departed,
There will be no heavy-hearted,
There will be no looking backward
To the joys of long ago;
There will be no sad words spoken
In a voice that’s low and broken
Of the loved ones that are missing
And the joys we used to know.

After all is said and done,
After all the work and fun,
We shall be once more united,
With our sorrows swept away;
Each new day will bring its pleasure
In a splendid heaping measure,
And no one of us shall sigh for
Any by-gone yesterday.
