I’m amazed at the difference
between my friend and me.
His response to life is so
different from mine.
I live deep in the city
and he’s out in the country.
I bellow and he whines.
It’s not easy being
a sensitive fellow down
in a hollow where folks
still make moonshine.
Moonshine doesn’t
bother me as long as
I don’t have to drink it.
At times I want to shake him,
hoping he might change.
But if he shook me
I’d still bellow.
And if I shook him
he’d still whine.
