D. Thurmond Aka Jef (James Everett Falcon)

Spring's Fever

The sunset glows
And I wiggle my toes
In the clover of this meadow,
This spring has dawned
On this fragrant lawn
Beneath my favorite willow.

The city’s fine
In winter time,
But we long for rolling hills,
An open plain
Kissed by rain
And the smell of furrowed fields.

So ...  we slip away
For a holiday,
Me, Myself, and Soul,
To a country space,
A springtime place,
Just to watch the flowers grow.

(1986)

Nice poem, enjoyed reading about this country space, spring time place. It,s always a good idea to take a holiday. Always wanted to go to Hawaii. Have you ever been ?

Thanks for the nice comment(s). --- Yes, we went took a three island, 7 day, hop about 20 years ago. It was very nice and we caught the off season so it was less costly. But as they say, it is a nice place to visit......
