Dear Lord, there were times
when I wove the fiber of my being
into the fabric of my life
and each time that it unraveled
it left a patch behind,
a remnant of the best of memories
from that blanket that once warmed me.
Now I ask Your help me Lord
to fashion those scattered remnants,
into a quilt of lessons learned.
Not a quilt of hate remembered,
but a quilt fashioned from those fonder times;
A lasting quilt that will warm me all my days.
