It Is You I See

It is you I see
In my dreams dream
Walking along a grass filled plain
Underneath caring angelic skies

I watched your silently moving lips
Breathing their honeyed... melodious... words
Sadly covered up by the wind
Yet still I felt them... taking them in... till they became one with me
Purchasing away my pain

It is you I see
As all of creation cries
Its’ very tears pouring out
Pooling into ever rising streams

I watched you kneel beside this brook
Reaching into the living... edgy... water
As if to fully grasp how it would feel
And all that was… and all that is… became one
As the water flowed from your hand

It is you I see
When out of the violent sky descends the dove
Wounded almost dead
Weaponless armed only with a word

I watched you run to snatch it
And then with a love felt... life giving... shout
You lifted it afresh
And considered it as it flew peacefully... purposefully... away
You saved a great cause that day

I see you now
I saw you then
Friend to myself
Once upon a time
And now again

4 line stanzas - present tense
5 line stanzas - past tense

Both forming two stories simultaneously

Last stanza is the key to the poem - it is cyclical ;)
