Chicago
Written while sitting on the shore of lake Michigan in the late hours of night...
Above the cityscapes, the wooden dancing floors
the sun turns liquid on the horizon
and opens darker doors
between the towers modern
below music from tainted air pours
above O”hare sends its wings of flight
within the later hours of the night
in the basements of riddle and shadow
Michigan in a lurid moon aglow
carrying each flicker like a current across the lake and bar
and upon the face the north wind blows
water as the country night askew with stars
and through the distance a melancholy moan
pushing through each wave, unto all that is alone
and a spire setting an eerie beacon across fathoms
winking, repeating, hypnotizing its lost back home

Chicago is a cool place...New orleans will always be my favorite city...but chicago is right behind it....this poem is almost 10 years old...ive revised it a bit though...I LOVE the great lakes...so fascinating ...i even wrote a poem on them one time...its been lost though...
Note ** all my poems are copyrighted and have codes to prove ownership ... While I doubt anyone here does this ..still have to say Don't steal other people's work wether a poem is good enough or not .... It's personal and directly speaks from the soul of the writer and to take their work and say it's yours ..it's wrong and unnatural ..your stealing a peice of them ...it's nothing to do with money or rights...it's so much more than that...its happened to me .. It can happen to anyone .. It hurts and I always speak out against it even if to most it seems pretentious...
