One lit candle burns brightly
As I make a wish upon it’s
Golden aura, that Humankind
May learn to caress the earth
As the wind does a field of flowers,
To protect the earth,
Not destroy it.
One lit candle burns brightly
As one small soul kneels to pray
That Humankind does not make
A fellow being mere prey,
Oh let there be a day
Where peace reigns and war abandoned.
One lit candle burns brightly
As the world slowly turns,
May the flame of pure light,
Ignite, the heart and mind of Humankind,
That we may give the best of ourselves,
Again and again.
