It’s been a long day
I just sit in my booth
Drink in hand
Waiting
Emily is just warming up
Already men are drooling all over themselves at the sight of her
But it’s not Emily I’m here for
Wolfe
The city’s very own underground king
Nothing goes on here without Wolfe knowing about it or having something to do with it
A man tumbles down the stairs
Beaten
Bloody
Rat
So named for his skill in ratting out his 'friends’ to the cops
Wolfe must’ve found out Rat’s plan to shut Wolfe’s entire operation
Too bad for Rat
He’s begging now
On his knees groveling like it’ll help
Stupid man
I see boots
Stained red
Ripped jeans and a flannel shirt
His face is hidden by darkness
I see the half smoked cigarette in hand
Just one more step and I’ll see my targets face
Just one more step
And I’ll see my payday
One simple step
Quiet
The seldom seen face comes into view
Everything goes silent
My sources warned me
Said I would be surprised
I had no idea
Tough as nails they said
Scared all to heck
And a heart branded into his neck
I see the brand
I see the scars
But I see no man
Her ebony skin is like shadow against her snow-white hair
Strands of said hair fall in her face
Her eyes
Her piercing eyes
Glow with violet in the light
No emotion in those violet eyes as she allows the man to go with the promise of a painful death if he goes to the cops
I hear the roar
The roar of an engine
And with a nod
The bar is cleaned out
I hide in the shadows
Wolfe doesn’t notice
She just cleans a nearby table
Waiting
Four men
Four guns
Four victims
One grabs Wolfe from behind
She doesn’t even blink
He presses a gun to her head
Her breath never falters
He laughs in her ear
He makes a move for her breast
She growls
She moves like lightning
Dodging every shot
Every punch
Every attack
It’s over quickly
Three bodies lay around
Barely bloody
She doesn’t make a mess with them
It’s the fourth that still breaths
His arm pinned to the ground
A knife through his palm
He doesn’t know what’s coming
She takes her time
Not like with the others
They were quick
But this one
He touched her
And she doesn’t like being touched
When she’s done
He lays there in a bloody puddle
Her violet eyes gleam at the sight
She’s cold
Calculating
Nothing in her veins but ice
I make sure I’m quiet as I sneak up behind her
Gun in hand
Pain
I’m struck with pain
All through my jaw
I fall to the ground
I look up
She towers above me
Violet eyes pierce through my very soul
She tilts her head
Deciding weather to kill me
Or let me live
She stands up straight
Steps over me
Walks out the door
I get to live another day
