Pretty.Odd

So many words left unspoken, feelings hidden in the corner of the heart.
Books that still have a message to transmit, music with magical lyrics,
birthday candles to blow off, pinky promises still to carry out,
tears to drop to fill bottles, foreign beaches full of mysteries to explore.
All the simplistic things that make life more bearable, less miserable.

Time is slipping through my hands, even when I try to slow the clock,
such an unusual feeling for someone living in the early twenties.
Time doesn’t slow down for anyone; that is just the nature of life.
Hating the ordinary routine that the system has created for humanity.

The overwhelming feeling that you’re not doing anything worthy
makes you hate life because the routine makes you forget the magic,
the magic that nature has to offer, the smiles and kindness of strangers,
the magnetic colors of the rainbows, which is a miracle of the universe.
Why do we let the system make us forget about all of these?

The politics, the industries, the drugs, all ruining the magic of being alive.
Their need to make humankind submissive to their twisted agenda,
for us to forget the love for the arts and live as working mannequins.
