around midnight,
you were gone,
vanished,
into the night,
they found you
at the hospital,
a gunshot wound
to the chest,

I went
to see you
in the hospital,
you looked so frail,
and weak,
and fragile,
I couldn’t stand
to see you
like that,
but you were
always there
to comfort me
so now
