Do you know what it’s like to think that everyone’s laughing at you?
A day in my life, you haven’t got a clue.
Do you know what it’s like to be scared to be alone?
But that is the only thing you do. Lock yourself away and spend time on your own.
Do you know what it’s like to look in the mirror and not recognise yourself?
To have no job. No image. No wealth.
Do you know what it’s like to fight the demon inside?
Who reduces you to tears. You just cry cry cry.
Do you know what it’s like to hate who you are?
You don’t know how it happens but you end up with scars.
Do you know what it’s like to have three voices in your head?
Can’t make a simple decision. Arguments lead to dread.
Do you know what it’s like to see the ugliest of things?
That no one else can see. The anger it brings.
Do you know what it’s like to feel physical pain from your stress?
You work way too hard to always impress.
Do you know what it’s like to not sleep for days on end?
When people ask if you’re okay, say yes and pretend.
Do you know what it’s like to feel guilt, the worst of its kind?
That’s when you know the self hatred is not far behind...
Do you know what it’s like to want a revenge so sweet?
But can’t muscle up the courage. It makes you feel so weak!
Do you know what it’s like to not recognise your own family or friends?
The memory loss is permanent the puzzle never ends.
Do you know what it’s like to repeat the same day over and over?
You’ll do anything you can for a little bit of closure.
Do you know what it’s like to love someone so bad?
That you push them away cause you’ve told them you’re 'mad’?
Do you know what it’s like to feel such turmoil inside?
You can’t get out of bed. You stay there and hide.
Do you know what it’s like to read peoples mind?
But you can’t let them know. You have to be kind.
Do you know what it’s like to obsess over dying?
'Just jump off a cliff, pretend that you’re flying’!!
Do you know what it’s like to have completely lost the plot?
A cigarette and this poem is all that you’ve got.
Do you know what it’s like to drink so much you can’t breathe?
I know what it’s like. This poem is about me.
