A Sonnet Just for Laughs
A fine Thursday morn far as I can tell
No rain in the forecast, the sun is out
‘Tis warm, spring is in the air; and all’s well
So let’s celebrate! God is good no doubt
I woke up late and quickly drove to work
The traffic’s light; all the highways are clear
Got to my office, feeling like a dork
For I left my laptop at home, oh dear!
Should I go back, get it; that’s the question?
Whether it is nobler to waste two hours
Go home in traffic; have hypertension?
Or go to the park and smell the flowers?
Aye! Aye! There’s the rub. I’m not that noble...
To the park I’ll go, work’s so much trouble!
