Standing outside the candy store,
Gazing through the windowpanes,
A vibrant world of colors galore,
My small heart yearned to gain.
The sight of jellybeans and lollipops,
And the scent of fresh baked treats,
A 5-year-old’s sweet tooth never stops,
And the thought of it made my heart skip beats.
But alas, my pockets were empty,
And my parents—nowhere to be found,
So I just stood there wistfully,
And daydreamed, lost in the sweet ground.
The allure of this candy land,
So bright and cheerful, oh so grand,
Is a memory that will always stay,
A childhood pleasure I’ll never forget to this day.
